Workshop Description: Top-down, profit-driven planning not only drives racialized inequities, it also aims to erase our inherent connection to the land, water, & air. How are communities activating ecological knowledge to facilitate community vision, power, and solutions that begin to heal the harm caused by racial capitalism and cultivate a more living democracy, one based on deep participation and a reciprocal relationship to one another and the land? In this 2.5-hour interactive online workshop, you will hear from innovators of community-driven planning and have the opportunity to workshop culturally and ecologically grounded approaches to planning relevant to your own work in community.
